WPI's Company History
Glenn Whaley founded Whaley Products in 1993. He utilized his 17 plus years of heat transfer and refrigeration experience to develop new heat transfer products. In 93 tests were conducted on a new stainless steel plate gas to liquid evaporator. With those results he designed and built a chiller for a solvent recovery system, which is still in operation today. The prototype chiller paved the way for a new product line Compa-Chill. In 1994 Compa-Chill portable and central chillers, were introduced to the plastic industry.
Since the introduction of Compa-Chill, 100s of installations have been made for central and portable chillers, steel and PE pump tank systems, and temperature controllers. In early 1999, WPI purchased the rights and inventory from Aqua Care cooling towers. WPI now manufactures fiberglass-induced draft Whaley Towers, sizes 10-300tons cooling towers. Since the towers were introduced onto the market in 99, 100's of units have been shipped.
WPI continues developing new products with the latest in innovative technology. Compa-Chill chillers are 15% more efficient with the use of the Scroll compressor technology. Negative pressure heat cool temperature controllers are going to be the next generation of products, Ultimate Temperature Controller (UTC). The low-pressure recirculation system, allow a leaks to occur at a mold and not leak fluid onto the product.
